3、鱼年年有余(鱼)是中国比较传统的说法，所以在春节这个吉祥的日子里，鱼肉就显得非常重要了，不少家庭为了吃出连年有余的好兆头，会在除夕夜吃1条，大年初1吃1条，这样就是连年有余了。不过呢，我们还有另1种说法，就是在除夕夜吃鱼尾，大年初1吃鱼头，这样也是连年有余，有头有尾。
4、年糕春节吃什么传统食品，其实最主要的还是1些寓意吉祥的，比如年糕。全国各地几乎都用江米面和黍子黏面做成黏糕（也叫年糕），寓意“年年高”。春节吃的食物大部分是节前准备好的，北方人大多吃馒头。南方是头几天淘米，名叫万年粮米，意思是年年有余粮。年糕也是汉族过新年的必备食物。做年糕的谷物有多种，各地做法不尽相同。其中以江南的水磨黏糕最为着名。北方则吃白糕或黄米黏糕，西南少数民族习惯吃糯米粑粑。
5、元宵正月十5北方吃元宵，南方吃汤圆。元宵在宋代时就很流行，最早叫“浮元子”，后称“元宵”，生意人还美其名曰“元宝”。通常是以白糖、玫瑰、芝麻、豆沙、黄桂、核桃仁、果仁、枣泥等原料为馅，用糯米粉包裹成圆形。可荤可素，风味各异。可汤煮、油炸、蒸食，有团团圆圆、生活美满之意。
6、年夜饭年夜饭要吃得愈慢愈好，每样菜都要吃1口。有几道菜肴，因含有吉祥意味，在年夜饭中是不可少的，如：［长年菜］（芥菜）要1根1根从头吃到尾，年首才能长长久久；［菜头］表示好彩头；［全鸡］象征全家福（［鸡］与［家］谐音）；吃［蚶］与［胖］谐音，取其发福之意；吃鱼丸、虾丸、肉丸，乃指［3元及第］之意（即状元、会元、解元）。餐桌上唯有鱼不能吃，表示［年年有余］之意。
